I am an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department and the Director of the CHASE Lab (Computing Hardware for AI & Security) at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE), LUMS, Lahore. I also hold visiting researcher positions at the Computer Engineering Laboratory (CE-Lab) of Delft University of Technology and the Neuroscience Department of Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam.
My expertise spans the interdisciplinary domains of hardware architecture, cybersecurity, and biomedical engineering. My research focuses on the design of security protocols and computing architectures for heavily resource-constrained embedded systems, spanning hardware accelerators for post-quantum cryptography, security and privacy of implantable medical devices, FPGA-based intrusion detection, edge AI and IoT computing, neuromorphic architectures, and hardware platforms for brain-computer interfaces.
Beyond research, I am deeply committed to education and mentorship. I teach multiple courses at LUMS and co-supervise a diverse group of PhD, MS, and BS students from LUMS, TU Delft, and Erasmus MC.
